EMBA is one of the largest local beekeeping associations in Scotland, with over 300 members.

Our membership is extremely good value, at only £10 for a year’s membership. If you wish to become a member, please fill in the Contact Form, selecting Membership as the recipient.

EMBA offers a wide variety of services and facilities for its members, the cost of which is included in membership.

EMBA Apiary

EMBA runs an association apiary, which is used for teaching, demonstration and other practical tasks.

Summer Meetings

Through the summer months EMBA organises a series of outings to apiaries in the local area (including its own), as well as some special talks and events. Please see the Events menu above for information on these meetings.

Winter Lectures

Throughout the winter months EMBA organises a series of talks, demonstrations and other similar events from a variety of speakers for its membership. Please see the Events page for information on these lectures.

These lectures usually take place at the Eric Liddell Centre in Bruntsfield. However during the COVID-19 lockdown our events are being organised online.

Equipment Hire

EMBA has a variety of equipment available for its members to hire. To borrow any of the equipment, please fill in the Contact Form, selecting Equipment Hire as the recipient.

  • Warming cabinet
  • Heating Coil
  • Heather Press – NOTE borrower must provide their own filter cloth. See the information sheet on Using the Heather Press in the Downloads section.

There is a £30 deposit (cheque payable to EMBA) for each item borrowed. This will be handed back when the equipment is returned, clean and in working order.
