2018 sees the centenary year for the 'Edinburgh half' of the Edinburgh & Midlothian Beekeepers Association.
Edinburgh and District Beekeepers’ Association dates from just after the First World War, being founded at a meeting of beekeepers and persons interested in bees in Edinburgh on Saturday, December 14th 1918. After the election of a President, Secretary and Treasurer, the annual subscription was fixed at 2/6d (12.5p)!
During the year the association will be conducting a travelling show to include talks, honey tasting, candle making (children only) around various libraries in Edinburgh in order to highlight the work that the association does within Edinburgh and beyond.
